The representation of a company in the public and general media is a very common occurrence. For businesses that exposure is critical, as it provides them an opportunity to display and put forward their brand identity. A company may choose from a range of mediums to be more visual, to get its brand out there. However, with the advancements in digital technology and digital platforms, businesses now have more ground to cover. A website with an e-commerce store is a great example of this.

Most people often consider that a brand is merely a logo, and branding is merely the use of that logo in different places across the business, but in reality, it is way more than just some mark. UI UX branding is the use of multiple sets of graphic assets, illustrations, visual elements, logos, animations, and any other form of pictorial representation to depict a business and or its services.

The User Interface Design-User Experience Relationship

UI and UX are two acronyms often confused and used interchangeably. In reality, these two are very different.  User Interface or UI is every part of the application that a user interacts with. It can be considered as the point where a human and software interact and communicate. Whereas User Experience or UX refers to the general sentiments and reactions a user feels when interacting with an application.

User Interface and User experience are so tightly linked, it’s almost impossible to think of either one without the other. Because, if you consider any website, web, or mobile application, it will have some sort of a UI that a user would interact with. Consequently, that period of interaction would be followed by a response, which would translate into a particular user experience based on what the user did during that time frame. Like most websites today are dynamic and functional, it’s unlikely a website visitor will not interact with a website, even a high bounce rate could signify a bad UI/UX design.  

Importance of UI And UX Design in Branding

To maintain solid brand identity, it’s important to first create the right brand perception amongst the direct consumers of that product or service. That perception is directly linked to all of the instances a user interacts or experiences with a website. When a user approaches via a website, delivering a user interface design that provides effective navigation as per the user’s convenience should be the top priority

How often have we come across websites which make us feel really confused regarding checkouts and the procedure to purchase a product. The feeling of self-doubt and anxiety that is created with such troubled websites almost always leads to a prospect terminating the session or just falling short of a successful purchase. In order to prevent that from happening, a good user experience needs to be provided, that is based on a functional, simple to navigate and understandable user interface design. Having a site that works really well but makes a user feel unguided or not engaged enough, is certainly not good.  

When we consider the user interface elements in a website or a mobile application, by incorporating branding, the chances of that experience becoming more vivid and exciting increase dramatically. All of these visual elements help to strengthen the relationship between the business and the customer. As visual perception is grasped more quickly than other forms of sensory inputs, like listening and or reading.

Through the user interface, a business is quickly able to personalize that customer experience that reflects brand value through every element and interaction. When a customer or website visitor, sees those visuals elements throughout a website or mobile application. It automatically establishes a connection with that individual. 

Altogether, users have very little patience when it comes down to UX. The performance of a UI UX design should be smooth in order to minimize the chances of visitor dropouts. A UI and UX should be designed in a way that resonates with the minds of the customer. This would increase the usability of the website or mobile application and reflect positively on the brand’s identity for its customers.
